    Hi,

Having recovered a TAAC-1 board-set from being lost to the world, I'd
like to use it. Or at least, get it to work.

But, the only machine with the necessary bus structure is a SPARCserver
    670MP VMEbus machine.

    Physically, it fits.

And I also rejumpered the backplane according to some documentation I
found about the module, and the backplane.

The system boots. I've installed the highest Solaris version that both
supports the Computer and the TAAC. Solaris 1.4.something[1]. That runs.
    No problem.

The only worry is, according to the manual, the SUN4M architecture
    doesn't support TAAC boards.

Is the manual right? Or can the kernel be tweaked to allow for this
    piece of hardware.

On the other hand, does the TAAC system have enough processing power, to
compete with the four 40MHz SPARC CPU's, or should I try to find an old
SUN3 to put the board in?

    Alex.

[1] I think it was. It was some time ago.
