OmniGraffle (macintosh) does a decent job of spiffy diagram.
Looking at its home page[1] they tout a new version with ``new
Graphviz[2]-based layout engine'' which reminds me of that: It shouldn't
be too hard to give that a list of network elements and have it come up
with the diagram automatically.
