Fellow AIX Netters:
I am trying to add 4 scsi harddrives to an RS/6000 running AIX 4.3.3.0
Each device (Hard drive) was recognized by the BIOS at boot, and is listed
via lsdev -C as defined (not available) with their correct and respective
scsi id numbers.
(The disks are connected to the Machine via an scsi card labeled as "scsi1"
and "available")
I used to do this pretty effortless by rebooting the system and doing an
update
on the device information via smitty cfgmgr -> "none" and all the
newly added hardrives changed from "defined" to "available".
I don't know what happened to the system that smitty cfgmgr is not
making them "available".
Is there something else I should do/configure? Is there another alternative
procedure
for updating the device information?
I tryied to use the "diag" utility but seems that there are not options for
adding a harddrive
here.
Any comments/ideas/pointers about this problem will be greatly appreciated.
Best,
A. Fuentes
