Yes, I've recently encountered this message. It occurred after I migrated a
7017 from AIX 433 to 51 (64bit enabled), lscfg started to produce this
message. Even though lscfg would complete successfully, the message always
occurred before the command completed.
It turned out that after the migration completed, I had a few devices that
were in a Defined state that should have been in an Available state.
Evidently, these devices were not supported under a 64-bit kernel and some
of devices were not supported under AIX 51 at all. In addition, some of
device driver filesets did not exist on the install CD and consequently were
not installed on my system. Strangely, rmdev -dl failed to remove the
unsupported devices from my system. I finally removed the unsupported
devices from the CuAt and CuDv of the odm with odmdelete. After that, lscfg
no produced the message.
