If there are any major problems with the CD drive it should show in the SMS
errorlog. But I'm guessing you have probably checked this by now.

Wonder if you can actually boot from the CD drive. Have you tried booting from
your AIX media. If you can boot to the first AIX installation screens, then
your stand-alone diagnostic CD media may be at fault, or too low a level for
the 150 or too low a level for one of the cards installed in it maybe?
