All,
I am wondering if anyone else has upgraded recently and
encountered problems with rpc.mountd and rpc.statd not wanting to
start and logging an error message?
The system is a 44P 270 4 CPU modules 4G RAM 2 drives mirrored.
Fresh install of 5.1 then an oslevel upgrade to level 4.
Then tried to start NFS but **arrrrg** no mountd and no statd.
Now have bos.net.nfs.client at 5.1.0.52 but still no go.
>>>>lslpp -l bos.net.nfs.*

I believe _everything_ is at current patchlevel at least that is what
"compare_report" is telling me.
The errors are with rpc.mountd and rpc.statd and complain about
"srchevn.c" Lines 327 and 201.
Other postings to comp.unix.aix had similar postings but were not with
AIX 5.1.
One posting suggested /etc/resolv.conf fixed it for similar problem on
4.3 and I verified that is correct.
I have also attempted to clear and restart portmap service and nfs
group with no luck.
Any thoughts, feedback, help, would be appreciated.
If someone could verify that the NFS with this oslevel is functional
that would be helpful as well.
Best,
Joshua Johnson
