Can any one help
I have taken over a legacy system and need to restore 2 files. Aix 4.3
backup was used to create the tape backup and it performed a
multi-file system tape
I have used the following command to restore the files
restore -s 7 -xv -f /dev/rmt0.1 ./filesnames
-s 7 refers to the 7th filesystem
after message "extracting requested files" it comes up with "You have
not read any media yet"
I can view the files with the following command:
restore -s 7 -f /dev/rmt0.1 -T so I know they are there ok
I have tried it at directory level and the diectory and
sub-directories are created, but, the same message appears "You have
....."
I have used the same format for the filenames as they appear on the -T
option ie ./dir1/dir2/filename (ie not pathed)
Any ideas?
Doug
