Hello everybody,
I have a problem that is really bothering me. I have a Regatta
partition with AIX 5.1 ML3 HACMP 4.5 that is losing network packets. I
have three-network adapter in two of them this problem happens. I
though that it was a network problem and then I checked all the cables
and connector, everything was working fine. Then I decide to remove
the adapters and configure them again, after that the problem
disappears. A few hours ago it happened again. The curious thing is
only the hart-beat interface keep working the other two miss packets.
I mean if I configure the adapter en0 with the heartbeat address it
works fine and the adapter en1 and en2 lose packets. If I configure
the adapter en1 with the heartbeat address it works and the adapters
en0 and en2 lose packets. The same thing occurs to adapter en2. Isn't
it strange?
To make myself sure that the problem is not the network cable when the
problem appeared I plugged a notebook direct to the adapters that were
losing packets via a crossover cable. When I did a ping from the
notebook to the adapter address it also lost packets. At this point I
became confused…I know that the problem was not with the adapter
because if I configure it with the heartbeat address it works, but it
would work when I did the notebook test, but wouldn't!!!
So it can be something related to the adapter device drivers, right?
Wrong… I updated the devices drivers and the problem persists…
So, anybody here already have this problem? How did you solve it?
Does anybody have any hint??

Thanks in advance,

Jackson
