ldap authentication

hello all,
I have an openldap server setup on a linux machine. I would like my
aix 5.2 machine to be able to authenticate against it. but it doesn't
allow me to login. The weird thing is that I can use lsuser -R LDAP
<user> and be able to list the attributes of the user. the login just
doesn't work. Did I miss to setup something? Should I setup PAM with
this?
