For Hyperterm, you need to have 9600 8 N 1 and use XON flow control
and emulating vt100 or vt220
Does the relevant TTY on AIX have the following settings ?
Enable login: Enable
Do you have clocal in the STTY attributes for LOGIN and RUNTIME ?
You can check these out using "smitty chgtty" and selecting the
relevant TTY for the serial port you are connected to.
You also have to use a 'null modem' cable.
