Printer Problem

Hi on my newly upgraded system (AIX 4.3 to 5.1) my printer that worked with
4.3 (EPSON DFX-5000) stopped working with the following error:
0781-088 Queue LPT:lp0 went down. job is still queued:
Backend: /usr/lib/lpd/piobe /var/spool/qdaemon/tRes.7a
Backend Exit Value: EXITFATAL (0100)
The cable will work with my other printers (when I switched them out) and if
I put the EPSON anywhere else I get the same error. No other printers have
issues. I have blown away and recreated the queue and printer more times
than I can count.
I contacted EPSON and they know nothing about AIX.
I would be greatful for any help.
Also, if I can't fix it here I would like recommendations for a consultant
you think could fix this.
