lpr on AIX

On Solaris I can specify both the Ipaddress and the queue in the -P
parameter seperated by a colon, e.g. lpr -P9220.127.116.119:lp filename.
This means I can send a job to a printer directly without setting up a
queue on Solaris.
However on AIX this syntax does not work. I think you have to set up a
AIX remote queue first and then use that as the -P parameter.
Anyone know whether it is possible to use lpr on AIX without first
setting up a AIX remote queue?
