I know this seems simple, but I have not done anything with man pages or n/troff
for years. I know how to do "man [cmd]" to get help on a command, but if I want
to save the text off in a file for printing on a Windows PC, how can I get plain
text? For example, if I do "man ksh >man_ksh.txt", I get all of the escape
codes (nroff, troff, whatever) embedded for the bolding, underlining, etc. I
don't want that, I just want the plain text so I can ftp to windows, open in
Word, and print it in a smaller, nicer format (double sided, booklet, etc). Is
there a way to run the man output through some sort of roff command that strips
out the extended characters? I have not played with the display characters
since my first job back in the late 80's when we did all of our documentation in
unix...
