It must be from 1994 or little later, if it is a 250. It wasn't
available earlier. But this is very old and *very* slow compared with a
2004 machine. The 220/230/250 were built like tanks. Everyone who tries
to lift the small pizzabox is suprised of the weight.

If the machines steps time it's possible to loose connections.
The machine should syncronize to a time server for correct time.
The CMOS battery used on the 250 planar is the same type as on the very
most PC. Cheap and very easy to replace.
You wrote it's running AIX 3, and the PowerPC needed 3.2.5 with a lot of
patches. There were no major y2k issues. Not like with AIX PS/2 1.3 :-(
