Interconnecting two AIX via a crossover cable

Hi all,

I have two AIX 5.1 hosts (Bart & Homer) and both with two nic cards
(Bart1 & 2, Homer1 & 2). Bart1 and Homer1 are connecting to the
Intranet and the remaining nic cards (Bart2 and Homer2) are directly
connected to each other via a crossover network cable. I assigned
different IP addresses and hostnames for all of these nic cards and
group them into two different subnets.

Can this kind of configuration guarantee all Bart2 to Homer2
communication will always use the crossover connection instead of
routing through the Intranet? If additional configuration is needed
(routing table, etc...), then can anyone provide some sample
configuration method or perhap some bedtime reading materials?

Thanks in Advance

TCS
