Upgrade from S/w RAID 1 to H/w RAID 1

Hi there,

I'm new to AIX, and so am looking for a little guidance.

I received a p615 tower machine a while ago, installed the O/s (5.2),
Oracle, and some bespoke software. I'm now in the position of needing
to upgrade the software RAID 1 configuration I set the system up with,
to a hardware raid 1 (I purchased an additional Dual channel ultra 320
controller, FC5703, and cable kit).
AFAIK I need to tar the system to tape, perform a complete reinstall of
base o/s, recreate the partitions, and then simply untar the backup
ontop of the new install.

Will this work ? And do I have to setup the RAID 1 before I do the O/s
install or will it ask me during setup ?
