Unix Server Technologist -Consultant

Hi, we need an AIX Consultant for a 12 week engagement. The position
requires a local (Dallas Fort Worth) candidate. Relocation and
Sponsorship is not available.

As a part of supporting a growing 24 x 7 catalog business our client
has a need to extend the Unix Server Technologies staff by engaging a
consultant.

Project efforts that will be assigned during this engagement are as
follows:

·Daily on-going support Unix Support for 24x7 Catalog business. The
primary server in the environment is an IBM Model S80 24 way, 50 GB
mem, 400 GB EMC SAN Storage running AIX 4.3.3.

·Upgrades to AIX 5.2 ML4 is scheduled to take place prior to the end
of April for these servers.

·Migrating of IBM PSF print software to another AIX 4.3.3 server and
integrating it's functionality within the environment is a pre-req
for the AIX upgrade.

·Evaluating and testing replacements for IBM PSF software.

·Installing Secure Shell

·Providing Unix Tech support for applications development efforts.

                       Candidates should possess the following:

Minimum 8 years experience in loading, configuring and tuning Unix
servers with emphasis on IBM (AIX)

Proficiency in Unix Shell scripting (Perl is a plus)

Experience in loading and upgrading Operating Systems and related
software, experience with EMC SAN/NAS is a plus

Proficiency in Unix server tuning in the areas of CPU, Memory, Network
and I/O utilization.

Ability to work with applications developers and DBAs in identifying
and implementing business solutions

Ability to develop and work within established standards and guidelines
among a fast paced team.

Ability to communicate professionally (both verbal and written)

Ability to cover 24 X 7 production on-call (after gaining knowledge of
our environments)

Knowledge of Unix security hardening implementations is a plus

The time frame for this engagement is approximately 12 weeks. There is
an immediate need for this strong AIX system administrator.
