I'm not sure if i understand it. But in some cases I made a third mirror
copy of rootvg betwen internal discs and SAN disc, at this point we can
choose unmirror rootvg and reducevg or boot directly other machine with SAN
disk (stale pp's). The server's firmware must recognize hba's at boot time,
in this case on PROM boot menu you can choose SAN disk as boot device.
