I am interested in feedback regarding I/O in database environments.
We are running Oracle 10g on a p5 system at AIX 5.3ML2 using JFS2.
Disks are EMC Clariion running raid 1/0, with EMC PowerPath, McData
switches in SAN environment.
I have read the excellent article below, but would like comments from
the "real world".

Which database components (data tables, tran logs, redo log, rman
backup areas) benefit most from concurrent I/O, direct I/O, or standard
file buffer cache? We will be using JFS2, so I don't want to start a
war over raw volumes vs JFS2 with concurrent I/O.
Thanks in advance for your time and comments.
