Have a 7011-250 AIX4.3 and trying to connect it to my P2P Workgroup network.
Network is HP switch with a HP hub attached to provide further connection
points.
Have a Dlink router plus a Dlink serial modem connecting to a dial up ISP.
All cabling is cat 5 and all equipment says it can handle 10 and 100 Mbs.
On the 7011-250 plugged in, is a CentreCom 210TS transciever. With computer
running transceiver has Link,Polarity and Power lights on. The SQE light is
off.
The 7011-250 network light on the HP switch is on.
>From 7011-250 pinging the router fails, but the impulse lights going from
the computer to the router on the switch can be seen.
Pinging 7012-250 from an XP computer on the network fails.

Before I continue with what I have tried

Is it possible to connect 7011-250 to the internet with Netscape
Communicator 4.8 through my P2P Workgroup network ?

Went into smit/communications/min config of TCP/IP and chosing en0, entered
the following at Min Config & Start Up window.
Host Name: OldAge the previous owners name for computer
Internet Address: 192.168.1.5 was on screen so left as is.
Network Mask: 255.255.255.0 left as is. My router has in its config Subnet
Mask
255.255.255.255 but smit would not let me alter it.
Network Interface: en0

Nameserver:
Internet Address: Put my router address in here
Domain Name: altered this to WORKGROUP
Default Gateway: left field blank
Your Cable Type: altered to DIX
Start Now: no

Pinging and trying to get my router home page in Netscape keeps failing.

Any comments appreciated.
