We have a an RS6000 running AIX 3.2.4
    We have 2 network cards
    one network is ok.
the other network has at least a pc and a printer that are not
ping'able in either direction with the AIX. There are no
    switches/hubs/routers.
I am not sure what other devices are on this network, the cable goes
under the floor and i'm not sure where it goes.
My assumption is that people on this network would be complaining if
there was a problem, and they are not, so I think the network card is
    ok.
    The rs6000 can ping itself
The pc can ping the printer
When I lpr a file it goes inot a queue
This was all working a few days ago and nobody should have done
    anything to it!

How can I see what's connected, or should be?
How do I find out what the network card is, without pulling it out as
it has a flashing light but I don't know the significance?

netstat -nr shows the interface exists and the numbers seem ok

/etc/hosts has an entry for the printer

smit reports that the lpd status is inoperable! I presume because it
    can't be ping'ed

    Any help greatly appreciated

    Thanks
    Mark
