The telnet daemon attempts to perform a reverse DNS lookup upon
connection. The connection will appear to be delayed if the lookup does
not return any data. It is probable that DNS for your wired connection
is resolving completely while the wireless is not. Try logging in via
both the wired connection and wireless and running the "last" or "who"
commands and see if the output for the wireless connection shows a
hostname or IP address.
