1) If you just applied the ML you might be able to revoke the update
.If its commited ...
2) Get the full ML06 update from AIX5.1ML0 -> AIX5.1ML06 meaning also
to download both ML files.
3) Use pure ftp or wget to download the files and check that the file
are not internaly corrupted. Do not use M$ iExplorer
4) Follow the instructions to unpack the files.
5) backup your system
6) reapply the update with the force option
&) Do not forget to reboot
7) Hopefully be happy ;-)
IMPORTANT:
Before applying any ML :
If your are not booting from the SAN remove the emcpower entry in the
/etc/initab because that entry is fiddeling with the /dev/ipldevice and
is only needed if you going to boot from the SAN afaik. At least i have
removed that entry in our environment.
Verify that the /dev/ipldevice has the correct link count meaning it is
hardlinkled to your bootdevice.
You will get in serious trouble if the /dev/ipldevice does not exist or
is linked to the wrong location and we had serious problems with that.
Also check if yu are using ALT_DISK , not that you have applied the
update and then just booted from the wrong device !
