Peter,

Binary compatibility from AIX 5.1 to AIX 5.2 was pretty decent
(depending on what you were doing.) Binary compatibility has been VERY
"iffy" for me between AIX 5.1 and AIX 5.3. The corrollary of that
would say that porting AIX 5.3 binaries to AIX 5.1 will be
significantly more challenging.
