Hi,
I wonder if you need to just make sure RMC (resource monitoring and
control) is still working. have a look at this link
http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/eserver/articles/DLPARchecklist.html
It will help with RMC and DLPAR and has some stuff about setting
hostnames and making sure the LPAR's can talk to the HMC etc.
There are commands for checking the RMC connections and it tells you
which deamons to refresh to get it working.
Some of the commands require you to be root on the HMC. If you search
on comp.unix.aix for "man -P/bin/more" you will find a recent posting
telling you how to access root on the HMC because as you know, normally
you cant get to be root.
Let me know how it goes and if this helps as we are thinking of
changing our HMC hostnames as well.
