Got CDROM?
1. you can use smitty mkcd and create a set of bootable images you can
burn onto CD and boot off that. ( The problem you are referring to
only applies to tape) You can burn the set of images with any cd
burner ie- XP laptop; whatever.
2. You can also boot off an install CD; and then select the unbootable
mksysb tape as the install medium, and it will install off the tape
just fine.
