The problem is that nobody can tell if you are right or wrong because the
original post talked about something 'crapping out', and thought
that was sufficiently descriptive.
I assume that by 'it crapped out' he meant 'something went wrong, and I
don't know what, and I don't care to investigate'.
If the command started from the inittab terminates, then the next entry will
be processed, regardless if the command ran successfully or not.
But it could also be that the command doesn't terminate, and then the
rest of the inittab would not be processed.
This is probably what happened, and a 'ps -ef' output should be enough to
verify it.
