It means simplte what it says - you have installed an efix, which
prevent you from updating your system. You should remove the efix with
the following steps
emgr -l - gives you an output with the efix label
emgr -r -L <efix label> - removes the efix
That's all, after that you can update to ml07
After updating under some circumstances it may be neccessary
to install the efix again
===> man emgr

Hi all,.
When I install 5.2 ML7 by smitty update_all, I get the error:
The following selected filesets are locked by EFIX manager:
bos.perf.tools
installp has halted this operation because one or more files in the
filesets listed above are registered as having an EFIX. You must
remove
these EFIXES before performing operations on the given fileset.
To get a listing of all locked filesets and the locking EFIX label,
execute the following command:
# /usr/sbin/emgr -P
To remove the given EFIX, execute the following command:
# /usr/sbin/emgr -r -L <EFIX label>
For more information on EFIX management please see the emgr man page
and documentation.
What does it mean?
