help recovering from stupid 'rm' trick

In my haste to use my command history to execute a command, I managed to
execute:
# find . -type f -a -mtime +7|xargs rm -f
as root, from the root directory.
It ran for about 5-10 seconds before I realized what stupid thing that was
and killed it. My system is still running, but I fear what a reboot will
do.

I know that it rm'd some files from /opt (particularly gtar) and I managed
to restore most of the linux tools. It also removed some user files
from /home, which I've managed to replace. I do not know the full extent of
the carnage, yet.

Printers work, but I get this error when the occasion arises that I need to
restart a print queue:
enq: (WARNING): 0781-162 Cannot awaken qdaemon (request accepted anyway).
enq: errno = 2: A file or directory in the path name does not exist.

and this when I try to start the qdaemon service I get:
# startsrc -s qdaemon
0513-001 The System Resource Controller daemon is not active.

So... I have a mksysb, but I really don't want to take the system down to
restore from it. My current thought is to use tar on the mksysb tape to
restore systems files, but I'm not sure that will work. Is restoring from
mksysb my only option at this point?
