Check and edit the image.data file and make sure that all the
filesystems are set to one copy, then adjust LP and PP numbers
accordingly.

yes original box has mirrored rootvg

all filesystems are already one copy

adjust LP and PP numbers???
what do you mean?
only see a PP size

are you talking about the image.data file on the mksysb backup, or the
new target system?

The one in the mksysb you try to install. The easiest solution is to
edit the image.data ile on the source system and take an new mksysb
(without -i).

You could unpack the mksysb (restore), edit the image.data and repack it
(backup), but this takes a lot of temporary disk space.

Actually fixed this by selecting 2 target disks for the mirrored vg
mksysb backup I was cloning. Then everything worked fine... no
image.data alterations

fyi.... selecting targets is a little different in AIX 5.2 vs AIX 5.3

for AIX 5.2 I used alt_disk_install with hdiskx hdisky (space
delimited)

for AIX 5.3 I used alt_disk_mksysb with "hdiskx hdisky" (did not
work without the double quotes)
