Setting up internet on AIX 5.1

I recently purchased a used 44P Model 170 and wanted to reinstall it with
AIX 5.1.
During the installation I was asked if I wanted to use dhcp for the network
card en0. I accepted that.

After the installation no dns was working. I created a new /etc/resolv.conf
(since it was missing) and wrote entries for domain and nameserver (for my
router gateway 192.168.0.1).

Now I can ping the router and lookup ip adresses but any traffic outside of
the router is blocked. Ping says that it cannot reach the destination
network.

What am I missing? Perhaps I should have run some administration utility
instead of creating my own resolv.conf?

Thanks in advance.
