I will try. I did not even know you could do that. We will see.

OK, I undrestand now, just one more questions, the makesysb oslevel is
5100-09 and the spot is 5100-004, what files/where to get them will be
needed?

hi mike,
a few pointers.
check the oslevel of your spot AND mksysb
to check the spot you can use smit or cmd line "lsnim -l "nameof
yourspot" there will be output alongside the oslevel_r
to check the level of your mksysb run "restore
-xvqf./"nameofyourmksysb" ./image.data
look in the restored image.data file and this will show you the level
of the mksysb.
if there is a difference you need to create or update a spot to this
same level.
if your spot is downlevel then easiest way is "smitty nim'>perform
admin>manage resrouces>perform operation on a resource
pick the spot to update, then "update_all" and enter the location of
the filesets which you wish to upgrade with, this can be an already
created lppsource or "other" media
hope this helps
regards
easiest thing to do would be to create a spot from the mksysb. go to
smitty nim and find your way to it.
