Hi might,
We have a technical problem with an IBM Pseries server (M/T- 9111-520,
OS:AIX 5.2 ML 04).
We need to connect this server with a LTO DRIVE (Ultrium 3)
M/T -3580-L33, to perform backup.
IBM has provided a driver cdrom along with the tape drive, which
contains
Tape driver.
Now these are the steps which have done to achieve this objective,
1. Physically connected the SCSI card to the PCI slot and the tape
drive
to the server.
2. Copied the driver file from the cdrom (which shipped along with my
tape
drive)to tmp directory.
3. Installed the driver issuing following command
#installp -acXd /absolute path/Atape.9.3.5.0 Atape.driver
This was a smooth installation.
I could check that it has been installed flawlessly issuing this
command
#lslpp -l Atape.driver
4.Now when I run #cfgmgr
and then all the stuff goes for a toss ; I get an error message like
this,
cfgmgr: 0514-621 warning the following device packages are required
For device support but are not currently installed.
devices.pci.14108c02:devices.pci.1410c002:devices.pci.14108c02:devices.pci
..pciclass.010000
Then I did shutdown and rebooted the system but I could not find any
thing
after using this command #lsdev -Cc tape. I tried passing cfgmgr with
i
switch but it is of no use.
Could you help me out.
