Delaware Valley-based Premier IBM Business Partner currently seeks an
AIX Systems Engineer to join our industry-leading consulting team.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- AIX installation and verification activities involving IBM pSeries
servers and Bladecenter
- Software installation and configuration
- Solution design in support of a wide range of business requirements
including database, high availability,
consolidation and virtualization.
- Support activities associated with business critical, 24x7 support
- Documentation in the area of installation, support and testing
- End-user training and skills transfer
Required Skills:
- Installation, maintenance, and configuration of AIX v5 systems
- Experience supporting both medium (p550/570) and large (p595)
pSeries
systems
- AIX v5 performance and tuning exposure and experience
- Hands-on experience with pSeries LPAR, VIO and micro-partitioning
- AIX HACMP experience v5.1 & v5.3
- Experience with pSeries and AIX in a SAN environment (IBM & EMC
experience preferred)
- Experience in AIX v5 network configuration and maintenance methods
- Ability to work closely with customers to determine project
requirements
- Strong verbal and written documentation skills
Other preferred qualifications:
- Experience with TSM strongly preferred
- Experience with Tivoli TEC
- Experience in installation, management, support of large EMC-based
or
IBM-based SAN environment strongly preferred.
- Experience with and ability to work within change management systems
- Willingness to work off-hours to accommodate production
implementation requirements
