#lppchk -v just returns with nothing on the screen to next line # waiting
for another command.

Ok, now if you issue oslevel -rl 4330-11 you will see which filesets
you are missing, and by installing those missing filesets you will get
successfully to the 4330-11 level.

Gud luck!

Your command #oslevel -rl 4330-11 threw up a list of about 75 files.
How does one find them in the 570 odd *.bff files in /usr/sys/inst.images.
#oslevel -rl 4330-11 gives them in English names not *.bff numerical names.

I suppose to reinstall AIX4.3.3.0 and do the ver11 update will be simpler
and quicker.
Us dumb old retired newbies just have to go the long way around.
Thanks Uruki-hai, you have made me realise one has to be very careful and
accurate with AIX commands.
At least AIX will come back up for a novice whereas Bill's system just gives
you a blue screen.

Now over to my 7011-320 where I am installing a fourth HDD to give me enough
room to get it up from AIX4.1 non gui to 4.3.3.11 gui, but it refuses to
boot in service mode off a AIX 4.3.3 or a RS6000 CD51025.ISO diagnostics
cd, and even refuses the 1A floppy so I can format the new 4329MB hard
drive.

Retirement can be fun.
