On our system i get .... : /usr/X11R6/bin/xauth list :0.0 . 2>/dev/
null ..... and on none of our AIX systems i have /usr/bin/xauth
For other readers: /usr/X11R6/bin/xauth is not listed within an lslpp -
f since /usr/X11R6/bin is a link to /usr/lpp/X11/bin

So please check
$ lslpp -f | grep xauth$ | xargs -n1 ls -l
$ ls -l /usr/bin/xauth /usr/X11R6/bin/xauth /usr/lpp/X11/bin/xauth

But i think you should update your system . Currently ML7 is available
for AIX 5.3
