Greetings,
I'm hoping to get an answer from here, as I am desperate.
I have a FreeBSD system home (or had, as I had no choice but to remove
FreeBSD from it)
The system ran fine for several years, but lately the HD died. I got a new
one, but everytime I try to install anything that's not Windows, the system
freezes... I tried with QNX, Linux, FreeBSD and NetBSD... all of them
freeze.
The hard drive is a Fujitsu 20GB MPG3204AT E.
As far as I can remember, if the drive is connected to my standard IDE port
(ATA33 I think), Linux doesn't see it. If I connect it to my HPT366, the
system freezes at any random times. I tried FreeBSD on both controllers, and
no change. I can be in the install process or logged in compiling something,
and the system will freeze
Is there any special settings in the BIOS that would allow it to stop
freezing on me?
Has anyone else ever experienced that kind of problems with these units?
Thanks
DaDeXTeR
