Sending system command through network

Hello,

        How does one go about sending a system level command through a network
to another machine using a script?

What I am trying to do is to have the machine that I compile software on
to command other machines in the network to mount the partition over
NFS, download the compiled software, and then install said software. I
really don't want to use RPC to send the command so I was wondering what
other tools that I can use to accomplish this.
