I used to have sound working perfectly with 4.6.2 and an old SBLive.
Recently I upgraded to 4.9 and now I have a problem.
The kernel, once I'd recompiled for sound, recognised my SB at pcm0 as
expected, but also the on-board AC97 that I don't use and that 4.6.2 never
used to find.
I disabled on-board sound in BIOS, but it still returns the following and
sound no longer works:
pcm0: <Creative EMU10K1> port 0xdf80-0xdf9f irq 10 at device 12.0 on pci2
pcm0: <TriTech TR28602 AC97 Codec>
Is there a way I can force the kernel to not recognise the AC97? Or is this
just coincidental to another problem I may be having?
Just for completeness' sake, here's the whole boot sequence from dmesg:
