But this method will not allow me to span over two or more disks, right?
Since chroot depends on having a single mount point like /var/ftp

Let's say I'm starting with a clean install - what is the best method
for implementing an "expanding server" where I can add to new disk to
increase the size of eg. /var/ftp

Hardware RAID? Vinum? Please enlighten me :)
