Check /usr/ports/net/nc or .../nc6, the clone with IPv6 support.
Should just fetch and compile.
(Or look in http://www.freebsd.org/ports/net.html for this and other,
similar goodies.)

No, FreeBSD has its own libc, as do all of the BSDs. Libc6 is a
GNU thing.

That's what the port will do for you. I've just looked, and
there are no patch files and no extra configure arguments, so
obviously the built-in configure script gets everything right.
