Well, I was just wondering... do you know where I can get this floppy with
the files needed to upgrade this strange eeprom?
The card really works ok in all other situations. Linux likes it, windows
likes it. Solaris doesn't complain... even though the network didn't work
when I had Solaris 9 installed. I'm not sure however, if the problem was
with the hardware-configuration, or if it was just me being lazy and not
finding out how to configure it properly.
Also, I tried with the FreeBSD 4.7 install floppies. 4.7 also gave me the
'eeprom failed to come ready.' but instead of giving up, it tried several
times (that message was printed around 9 times) and then it proceeded (but
did it succeed?).
When I tried to connect to the freebsd ftp-server though (after answering
yes to a question on 'dhcp or not'), my system hang.
/Erik
