argh...
i think i busted my laptop! i dont undersstand how. I was booting up
freebsd, and i switched it off in the middle because i realized i want o
boot into another os. After that, i tried booting into BSD again. it
failed so i thought i must have busted up my BSD installation. Ok, i try
to reinstall it, but it keeps giving me error, cannot load /kernel. i say,
ok. try burning a new BSD cd, maybe it got scratched. nope, still not
working. so i try to scrap my entire hard drive. I boot up with a win 98
boot floppy to fdisk the hard disk clean. delete primary partition and
non-DOS partitions. I try to get rid of the extended partition, but it
won';t let me. says there is still a logical partition. i try to delete
the logical partition within the extended partition. won't let me, says
there is no logical partition inside!
darn.
I try booting with a linux cd. once it gets to loading initrd.img, it then
just reboots itself, endless cycle. try booting with a winxp cd jsut so i
can clean away the hard disk and start again. says there is not enough
extended memory!! and wont let me proceed.
argh, what the hell is wrong?how can i just scrap the entire hard disk?
nothing i have tried is working.my laptop is useless now
