I've read many other subjects, posts on mailing lists, and information
from the handbook on this, but nothing has really helped. Seems to be
common enough, just no answers.
I'm running 5.2 and I have a 3Com PCI slot modem, it's on COM3, so I
edited /boot/device.hints and removed the line disabling sio2. When I
reboot I and do a grep for sio, sio2 gets a message about irq5 not
being in the bitmap of probed irqs. I know sio2 is set up to irq5,
I'm guessing it should be set to something else. No idea what though.
Even though none of the other questions have been answered, I'm
hoping someone may have a solution to my problem. :)
