I believe you'll find that _all_ external modems are hardware, not to say
compatible, but these days most are. Getting them configured can be a bear
and a half 8-), however.
In any case, glad you got it working. I've a pair of old 33.6 sportsters
that generally stay up until the plug is pulled.
