Among other things I'd say you've got a sub-netting issue. While it's
perfectly possible that you're using a subnet like 255.255.255.248 or
something, I suspect that you've using the default 255.255.255.0, and
doing NAT twice. This is just a bad idea for so many reasons. Among
them, you have no way of knowing which interface to send the packets
out through. Why don't you post your routing tables here for us to see?
I'd reccomend of course that you either ditch the router, putting your
linux box in its place, or put a switch directly after the router and
put both the linux box and the bsd box on that switch. Everything will
work much smoother.
If that isn't an option, at least put your two interfaces on different
sub-nets so the routing table will function properly.
