Normally under OpenBSD a panic will not result in a 'reboot' or 'halt'
entry being placed in the last commands. That's what always puzzled me
on the matter.

However, I have kicked in the appropriate changes to have cores saved
when the system drops off. This should at least shed light on the matter.

However, there are two points that still confuse me since I am somewhat
new to FreeBSD. The first is related to rebooting, as in under OpenBSD
the default behavior is to simply crash to a debugger and wait for
things to handle itself there? Using a 'sysctl' command and setting it
to 'ddb.panic=1' will alleviate the problem. Does FreeBSD require such
a setting? Or is it automatic?

If reboots are automatic, what could cause the system to hang? I have
noticed that it attempts to synch before rebooting itself. Could this
cause problems or hiccups?
