You shouldn't have to do that. The configuration is stored on the
disks themselves and there is no config file, per se. And if
everything is configured correctly and working at that point, you
should just be able to mount the file system, without needing to
recreate the vinum configuration.
Once the volume is mounted, what is listed in the output of "df"?
As someone else mentioned, it's possible that the disks aren't
spinning up quickly enough. That's not too likely, I don't think,
but if it's a problem, you can build a new kernel with a longer
SCSI_DELAY value to give them more time.
