Yes. As I've said, up to now I'm only using nvtv on my Linux box (FreeBSD is on
my Laptop). I can't get dual-view to work, but I can switch between TV and
monitor (and back) with nvtv.

Sorry, can't follow you ... I do not have to change any cables. The nvtvd daemon
is running all the time, but to get tvout I have to explicitly call nvtv and switch.
