discard oversize frame

I've been having this problem for some time now. I don't know when
exactly it started. I was noticing some strange behavior from my server
(FreeBSD 5.2.1 amd64).. just general slowness. I rebooted it and it
took it upon itself to start rebooting at random intervals after that.
After that I ran chkrootkit and found nothing. I booted into safe mode,
and then restarted regularly and it has been fine since (weird eh?)

Now, the problem I'm currently having; whenever I ssh into or mount
samba shares from my server to my laptop (FreeBSD 5.3(kind of) i386) I
get these messages:

ath0: discard oversize frame (ether type 800 flags 3 len 1518 > max
1514)

I have 2 nics in this laptop ath0 and fxp0. ath0 is local and fxp0 is
internet. Whenever I run something over ath0 to my server I get those
messages, if I use fxp0 I don't get them.

Based upon this I'd guess that the ath driver has some issues but
haven't anything on google about ath having these kind of issues, and
it only happens when I use my wifi card to connect to my server.. if I
use my wifi card to connect to anything else it is fine, just as if I
use a different interface to connect to my server it's fine.

Anyone give me any further tips on how to figure out what the actual
problem is, or happen to know what my problem is?

Thank you very much for reading this... I know it was lengthy any
help is very much appreciated

  Thanks,
    Anthony
